    It’s extremely unfair that G Rap doesn’t receive the same amount of respect as LL Cool J, KRS One, Rakim, Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane, or Slick Rick. I honestly believe he surpasses LL, Kane, and even Chuck D lyrically. And he fathered the grimy east coast street tale style that Nas, Pun, Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, and so many others expanded upon. If it weren’t for G Rap, east coast hip hop would not be the same. Thankfully he gets the respect he deserves from those that were inspired by him. Nas has always given him props, Jay-Z shouted him out on “Encore”, and Pun kissed his ring.

      @sfknns 10 лет назад

      dante daniel Lane .......LMAO, Dude you sound stupid as hell. Kool G rap, Canibus, Krumb snactha, Pun, OC, Keith Murray, Nas, Freestyle, Monch, Born Sun, Virtuoso, & Celph Titled are not muslim or 5 percenter rappers & have never rapped hate against whites. Celph Titled & Virtuoso are white. Do you even know half these artist? & Even though Killah Priest, Mc Out Loud, Afu Ra, GZA, & Deck are 5 percenters when have they ever rapped against whites? They have white fans. When I see wu tang shows whites are the majority in the crowd. The only rapper you are partially correct about dissing whites is ras kass & maybe k rino. Ras kass & k rino are known for controversial lyrics about conspiracies, race, & religion ras kass especially. Nature Of the threat? How to kill God? I may no always agree with what ras says but I still appreciate his lyricism. Even if what you're saying is true, being racist against somebody has nothing to do with lyrical skill LOL. Are you serious? Eminem raps against hate & evil? Is that why he disses pop artists? that why he made songs dissing ICP, benzino, canibus, cage, esham, pacewon, everlast, vanilla ice, etc? Is that why he made songs about killing kim & his mother? Is that why he bite cage & tried to do self pity/horrorcore/poor/acid rap? I mean you're not making any sense at all. & I'd like you to show me how em's lyrics are beyond comprehension yet those mcs' lyrics aren't. Just because em has complex rhyme schemes doesn't mean his lyrics & actual content is complex. You keep saying you don't like eminme but you keep saying he's lyrically better than everybody else. Make up your mind. You either like him or you don't.

    • @sfknns
      @sfknns 10 лет назад +2

      dante daniel Lane LOL dude something is seriously wrong with you. Are you really this stupid or are you trolling & pulling my leg? What you're saying makes 0 sense. You're telling me all black rappers are Muslim, rap against whites & even though you don't like eminem, he's lyrically better than any of them & his rhymes are beyond human comprehension & that he raps against evil. You act like eminem is a conscious rapper when he's been the complete opposite of it his whole career. I never heard anybody say eminem is complex in any way other than rhyme schemes. I hear that about canibus, ras kass,killah priest, k rino, gza, & virtuoso though. Some of those black rappers I mentioned even spoke against Lord Jamar (another black rapper) who basically said whites are guest in hip hop. I think you're the one who's high plus on pcp, bath salts, & mollies LOL. Its very obvious you don't even know half these mcs. 2 of them are fucking white you imbecile. I know you don't know shit about freestyle of the arsonists. Here I'll try to make you job easier I'll list these mcs & I want you to tell me 1 by 1 how they're all Muslim, hate whites, & are lyrically inferior to slim shady;

      ***** I've been a loyal follower of rap/hip-hop since the golden era (86-88 when I was 7-8 years old, I'm 33 now.) The first 3 are etched in STONE in my honest opinion!!!! KRS-One is a VERY influential and skilled lyricist, Slick RIck is the BEST story teller, Melle Mel was one of the first with that undeniable flow, Nas (90's to early 2000's) is a legend of course and melodic... that why I liked him. Rae and Ghost (Again 90's and early 2000's) are my favorite rappers EVER!!! I know more Rae and Ghost rhymes then Jay-Z rhymes. Not only is Jay-Z an incredible lyricist but he kept the fans on there toes with the great product and stayed consistent.
      PS: Tupac is the most influential EVER as far as his personality and work ethic but I think his lyrical skills where slightly underrated. Just my opinion. Peace.

      ***** Big Daddy Kane is a HIGHLY influential and skilled rapper/MC!!!! There's a video here on youtube where one of the members of Da Clipse has Kane higher then Rakim. I definitely disagree with that but I can kind of understand that argument. Kane is top three ALL TIME in my opinion. N.W.A is one of the greatest and influential groups of all time, none of the members were lyrical giants but as a group they're one of the greatest. Andre 3000, good lyricist but I don't know where I would put him in my list but there would definitely be a lot higher then him. As a group Outkast are one of the most creative and innovative groups of all time. Group wise Outkast is in my top ten.

    I love to here these old subplot
    hip-hop tales. Everyone has their own version of “how it all went down” so it’s always enjoyable to learn about how it all came to fruition. I am fortunate to have lived and breathed hip-hop my entire life of 40 short years. I wouldn’t trade a thing.

    "My" top 10 ten of all time
    10- Busta- The stuff that legends are made of. He will rhyme any speed, any cadence, quiet or loud, happy or mad, funny or serious, and is not to be slept on.
    9- Prodigy- This cat had to fight for his spot and you can hear the hunger and pain in his voice with a very authoritative delivery
    8- Kane- His earlier less known stuff is absolutely incredible.
    7- Raekwon- His voice and intonation go perfect with his storytelling and he is a huge risk taker in his lyrics and they never let you down.
    6- Ghostface- The loudest, realest, most sarcastic dickhead on earth is an uncaged lion and you will not see anybody challenge him.
    5- G. Rap- He will take you to the hood, the corner, into his job, next to his girl, into the car, all in a fiery shootout in only 3 minutes, oh and with just lyrics.
    4- BIG- His voice alone could scare you but the man was a lyrical genius with the ability to deliver any cadence.
    3- Nas- Made all his contemporaries step their game up to which very few ever did.
    2- Melle Mel- The depth of this MCs lyrics can bring you to tears
    1- Rakim- A once in a lifetime MC in his prime with the perfect blend of rhythm, tonality, lyrics, with jazz influenced swing on full display throughout his complicated verses.
    Honorable mentions:
    Cube- Raw, witty lyrics delivered like an AK and very believable.
    Scarface- His talent put Texas on the Hip-Hop map forever.

      You've got a real hip hop head's top 20 for the most part. The kind that pay's respect to a lot of the guys who influenced rapper's today. I don't feel like some of the guys from the golden age of hip hop are on the same level as the people that followed them though. I'd suggest mixing it up with some of the new guys. J cole, kendrick, and wale are some popular ones.
