@ngerstner753 I would generally agree. But she isn't feeding them. Isn't trying to make lap pets out of them. And it appears she lives in a rural part of the country. When you live in bear country, you find ways to cohabitate with nature, and she didn't seem to push herself on the bears. So, I think this is a little bit of an exception. Just my observation.

Habituated bears will leave their cubs in the presence of people because they know that the more dominant male bears avoid humans at all costs.

He completely trusted me, I never entirely trusted him. His bite was strong enough to break any bone in my body. He was a nice animal, never hurt me, but a wild animal isn't a pet. Tigers live with people in India and rarely attack people. Of course when it happens it is very tragic but when you consider that they are around people all the time, it is remarkable that attacks more often. These tiger reserves do not have fences keeping the tigers in.
The Indian Wildlife agency have put monitors on some of these wild tigers and they were shocked to see them roaming thru villages transversing hundreds of miles looking for a mate as they are so few of them, and with decreasing habitat.
      Yet people seldom see them.
They had a documentary of one male, given the name Broken Tail, as his tail was slightly deformed. A few villagers remember seeing him from the time he was born. A couple of women collecting firewood in his habitat suddenly came upon him, he was quietly hiding trying to stay out of view. He snared at them and walked away. The villagers began to really like him because even though he was fully grown, he always walked away when they met up. They put a monitor on him, and found out he traveled through some of the most populated areas where people lived. The villagers were terribly sad one day when they found his carcass. He had been hit by a train and died near the tracts. It was surprisingly to see these villagers get so emotional about his death. He was 'their tiger'. Normally the Indian wildlife officers are supposed to always collect their remains but made an exception as the villagers wanted to give their tiger a proper burial with full honors.

@@jen43072 osiyo (Hello) 👋 Wado (thank you). Fun fact, the bear and it's relevance to our tribe is a tradition that has survived more than 35,000 years of evolution. The Siberian people, for which the Iroquoian branched tribes (and inuit/Canadian/Alaskan tribes) come from, also celebrate the bear. They use a pelt to dance outside for the hope it causes rain and good fortune to come (the Siberian Indigenous I mean, but also here in the Americas either for good fortune or good harvest to come (which depends on rain anyways so same message and use).
They even still celebrate the bear festival in Siberia. Also the reason the Americas have Caribou, they are the evolutionary cousin to the reindeer, that the Siberian Indigenous peoples brought with them. They are known as the Reindeer People for this reason. The only people in human history to be able to domesticate reindeer, however they domesticate reindeer by picking the right ones out of their herd who will become sled pullers or even to become a type of spirit animal partner and guide. So, not true domestication but also still yes, they domesticated the reindeer? It is phenomenon not seen anywhere else in the world.
Even the Pacific Northwest tribes of Washington/Vancouver area of Canada, use the bear pelt and dance just like they have done in Siberia. We have held this tradition for so long, it is a main piller to show our passed down story telling is a historical record, not just made up stories. Anthropologists are finally realizing how great our passed down knowledge is, they are finally allowing us to tell our story and they actually use it in conjunction with fossil finds and other ancient finds.

A mother black bear sensed my good intentions and left her two baby cubs with me while she fished on the river (and i would have done anything for those baby bears to keep them safe). Her cubs are grown now but, they still come around me and remember me! Its so cool, I have it all on footage too. I feel they see she respect them so they trust her.. She sets boundary but you gotta do that with all animals... When I was a kid I lived off a game reserve that had family of raccoons and like 200 Canadian geese with a bunch of ducks.. Well we fed them, We loved seeing how the two heads of the geese would move each family from the patio so everyone had there time to eat.. We stayed inside mostly unless I wanted to take off on my bike or needed to put food out and they would back off for a bit but just to give us a buffer zone then come back to eat... Now the Raccoons they where something. Each one had there own personality. One would love to sit and slap at my pedal's watching it spin. One would love to climb on my bike while one would hang up side down in the Spanish arch style cut out window and it would just show off... With the years of interacting with all them animals I feel if you are going to share your yard with any wild animal. 1 keep in mind they are wild and never fully trust them so stay alert but relaxed at the same time. 2 you and them set boundary and respect them. 3 Enjoy the life changing moments they bless you with...... In my eyes long as she keeps doing rule 1 and 2, they will allow rule 3..Like letting her baby sit the cubs..

This beautiful world you seek is naivety and a lack of knowledge. This woman feeds these bears and has done so for a long time, which means some if not all the bears you see in this video will likely be destroyed at some point. This is because of a behavior called food conditioning, which means the bear will associate humans with food for life and removing the natural fear that protects bear and human alike. In the end, her actions put people and the bears in danger, which is not beautiful, it is irresponsible and in her instance evil since she knows the danger she creates for these bears, yet still does it.

Actually it is not a trait of Black bears to defend their cubs. They usually run away and let their cubs climb trees to defend themselves. They will return after the "danger"has past. On the other hand grizzlies evolved on the Praire where there are no trees and found it necessary to defend their cubs agressivly. The fact that the cubs themselves are not running away is because they have lost their fear of her by a process scientists call desensitization . It consists of being exposed to a condition stimiulos without being paired with an unconditioned stimulus. Inother words seeing a human who's not shooting at you, throwing something at you or yelling at you. Check out the dozens of other videos of folks who get visiting bears that they've desensitized.

The tears should be dedicated to the bears. Her actions of feeding them will likely force wildlife officials to kill some if not all of these bears at some point. She is irresponsible, selfish and even evil for doing this. If she is lonely, get a dog or cat, but allow wildlife to remain wild. These actions put all wildlife to a disadvantage and can directly kill them, for bears it is worse because of their intelligence and danger they now pose to people.
