Pantera tattoo suggestions?

So...yea, I'm thinkin about getting a Pantera tattoo. I'm just not sure exactly what to do for it. I was thinking about going with the CFH logo, but can't find one that looks cool enough online.

Need help from Pantera fans mostly as they'll know what I'm talking about!

Oh and of course I'd put something under it with RIP Dimes 1966-2004

Get a dimebag with the Pantera logo on it, with the date of Darrells death date as the susbtance.

I don't think anyone around here does photograph type tats and if they do...I've not seen any good ones. :(
Maybe someday in the future when I can afford it I'll get a dimebag tat. Wouldn't want to dishonor his name by getting a shitty tat.

Already working on, or rather seeing if someone can merge the devil skull and crossbones from Damageplan with the CFH for a kick ass design. He was guitarist for both bands, so I'm a fan of both!

How about you get a tattoo of Eddie Van Halen. Dime Loved Van Halen, so did Vinnie. Eddie and Alex, and Dime and Vinnie, the brothers from hell. He met Ed right before he died too, and they became quick friends. I think that's the way. Maybe a Dime and Ed tattoo. Logo tats have always been known to disappoint. I'd suggest saving up to make it a worthy tattoo. Too many people have shitty tattoos, that were cool ages ago, but fade. This one has to last so people will always ask you: "Who's that?" And you can tell them. Dime was great, but Phil Anselmo sucked, and still does. He treated Dimes death like a fucking douche bag.

Always be on the search for a good artist.


Its on there forever, don't take chances with a fuckup of even a simple tattoo. You'd be surprised at how easily a simple tattoo can be fucked.

Good idea. As for phil. Eh :dunno:, he was a dick when dimes was shot, but still he did help to make Pantera a hell of a band. I can't picture another singer for them. I've heard some of their older stuff, before Phil came in and personally...it sucks!

Don't worry thought, I'm not gonna just run out and get some lame ass tat that says PANTERA rip dimes. It'll take some thought and working out some things to make it look cool. Hell it won't even say pantera. Might look up some dimes tattoos before I make my final choice what I'm gonna do, to get some extra last minute ideas.

If you go to a tattoo artist and give them a picture of what you want, they can make modifications to make it look how you want it to.

I've always liked the main Pantera logo.

Personally, I think it would cool if you could incorporate the Far Beyond Driven album cover into your tattoo. It would look sweet if you were getting a full sleeve done, but I don't know what you're looking to get.

What about incorporating his Dean Razorback guitars? Or a photo of his old Dean with the lightening bolt that he won playing guitar contests in Texas. Dime was a serious player, not just some metal head. A true innovator people often look over, because he was in Pantera, which sort of popularized the screaming aspect of real metal; i.e. includes guitar solos, not just screaming. He's still a monster, way better than his friend and counterpart Zakk Wylde. I just can't stand Zakk, Ozzy should have let go after Randy died. Eh, the whole metal scene is coming back into popularity again, so who knows what is to come.

I've always liked the main Pantera logo.

See just saying PANTERA seems generic to me. I like the CFH idea better. I intend to work on a sleeve someday. Slowly a few tats at a time. I've already got enough damn dragon tattoos. Time to branch out! I'll get a really good idea what I want first and work out a picture and have a tat artist fix it up.

I'm not recommending that you get just the Pantera logo. You obviously have to tie it into a nice background of things. Like...like...my face? :dunno:

If you plan to incorporate Damageplan into it in any way, don't leave out the Rebel Meets Rebel. If you haven't heard it, DO SO. Vinnie, Darryl, and David Allan Coe. Good stuff.
